LSU Tiger Fig is another wonderful fig from the Louisiana State breeding program. It was named in honor of the college’s mascot. The Tiger has top-notch flavor, good dark fig size, and good productivity. It is slightly stripped and can almost look variegated when ripe. The skin is purple and the flesh is deep red. The flavor is very sugary sweet with a nice berry finish. At maturity it can grow 8-12 feet in height. It is hardy to between 0° to 5° F and will bear fruit 1-2 years after planting.
